Snorkel owner Michael Diederich, an avid Bitcoiner, decided to show off a low-tech wood fired hot tub at the 2025 Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas. One question was asked hundreds of times as people would run their hands across the smooth cedar staves: “Can it run on Bitcoin?” Now the answer is YESSS!!

The HashTub was built as a collaboration between Snorkel and Hashrate House and debuted at the Heatpunk Summit 2026, where it won innovation of the year. The HashTub is a permanent installation in Denver at The Space, a local non-profit focused on Bitcoin education.
